Precision Turning for High-Quality Components
WhWhat is CNC Turning?
CNC turning is a machining process that involves rotating a workpiece on a lathe while a cutting tool removes material to create cylindrical shapes. This method is ideal for producing parts with precise dimensions, smooth finishes, and complex geometries, making it suitable for various applications across multiple industries.
For tolerance,On high-precision CNC lathes, when using finely ground diamond turning tools for high-speed finishing of non-ferrous metal parts, the machining accuracy can reach IT7 to IT5. This type of machining is known as "mirror finish turning." The general machining accuracy of CNC turning is IT8 to IT7.
For surface roughness,On high-precision lathes, when using finely ground diamond turning tools for high-speed finishing of non-ferrous metal parts, the surface roughness can achieve Ra 0.04 to 0.01¦Ìm.Semi-finishing and finishing should adopt high speed with small feed rates and cutting depths as much as possible to achieve a machining accuracy of IT10 to IT7, with a surface roughness of Ra 1.0 to 0.16¦Ìm.

Our CNC Turning Services
At Precise Prototype, we offer a comprehensive range of CNC turning services, including:
Aluminum: Lightweight and durable, suitable for aerospace, automotive, and electronic enclosures.
Stainless Steel: Known for its corrosion resistance, used in medical devices, food processing equipment, and architectural applications.
Copper: Excellent thermal and electrical conductivity, often used in electrical components and heat exchangers.
Brass: Consisting mainly of copper and zinc, brass offers good corrosion resistance and is often used for decorative parts, musical instruments, and plumbing fittings due to its appealing golden color and moderate strength. It provides excellent machinability, allowing for intricate designs and fine details to be achieved during the CNC milling process.
Plastics: Various types like ABS, PC,PP,PVC, PMMA,PC+ABS, Nylon+Glass Fiber,PTFE, and PEEK are available for different properties such as strength, chemical resistance, and low friction.
Mild Steel: Also known as plain carbon steel or low carbon steel, mild steel is a common material used in various engineering and construction applications. It has good machinability, weldability, and formability, making it suitable for general-purpose parts and components. Mild steel provides a good balance of strength, ductility, and cost-effectiveness, allowing for a wide range of uses from structural frames to machinery parts.
Alloys: A wide range of alloy materials can be CNC machined, including aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, nickel alloys, and more. These alloys offer enhanced mechanical properties such as increased strength, hardness, and heat resistance compared to their pure metal counterparts, making them suitable for demanding applications in industries like aerospace, automotive, and defense where high performance and durability are critical.

Quality Assurance
Regarding tolerances, for parts with 2D drawings, we will process the parts strictly in accordance with the requirements specified on the drawings. For parts without 2D drawings, we will follow ISO2768 F grade as the tolerance standard.
In terms of quality control, we have a variety of inspection instruments, including CMMs and Two-dimensional measuring instrument, height gauges, roughness testers, pin gauges, thread gauges, micrometers, and so on. These are used to inspect the products to ensure that all parts and dimensions are checked before shipment, preventing the dispatch of defective products. At the same time, we also provide customers with inspection reports and material Certificates.
Concerning the inspection requirements, for parts that can be directly inspected on the machine, we will conduct the inspection on the machine immediately after processing. For products that cannot be inspected on the machine, our operators will perform timely inspections after the corresponding processes are completed to prevent processing errors from leading to delays in delivery.
